Caring for Your Honu Pieces
Your Honu Living resin and timber pieces are designed to bring beauty to everyday moments β from relaxed grazing nights to special gatherings with friends.
With a little love and care, your boards, bowls, knives, and coasters will stay looking beautiful for years to come.
Here are a few simple tips to help you look after them.
π§Ό Hand Wash Only
Our resin and timber pieces prefer a gentle clean.
- Wash with warm soapy water
- Use a soft sponge or cloth
- Dry immediately with a towel
π« Please avoid the dishwasher β the heat and harsh detergents can damage both the resin and timber.
πΏ Nourish the Timber
Timber is a natural material and loves a little hydration.
Every few weeks (depending on use), apply:
- Food-safe mineral oil
- Grapeseed Oil
This helps keep the timber moisturised, prevents cracking, and keeps your board looking fresh.
βοΈ Avoid Extreme Temperatures
To keep your pieces in their best shape:
- Avoid direct sunlight for long periods
- Keep away from ovens, stovetops, and heaters
- Donβt expose them to extreme cold or heat
Sudden temperature changes can cause timber to warp or resin to expand.
